Brilliant Speech By Yair Lapid

This is the most impressive speech I have ever heard from a secular Israeli politician. It makes me feel more optimistic about Israel than I have for a very long time.

Jeremy -

You're right, it is a very good speech. Thank you for pointing it out to me to see. Glad to see you have a "lift" in your step about the possibilities, however slim, for a way out of the politico-geographic-religious mess.

For my own part, I think Lapid's speech WAS very good. Too good. More like crafted, spun, smelted, extruded and hammered. More like "I come to BURY Caesar not to PRAISE him" . . . . in reverse; but it IS still quite an excellent speech. His media training, eloquent tongue, and naturally phrase-sharp political ear have already served him well.

You are right and the only test will be actions. But after so much negativity I desperately want to be optimistic!

Just wish there was more understanding of other people's values and choices.
